Community Involvement

At GOLD, we consider the credit union to be a member of the community. It's where we live and work, and where many of you live and work too. We take part in a variety of efforts to do our part in making our community the best it can be.

Lehigh Valley Phantoms 2022-2023 Hockey Season

Hockey season is back! We're so excited to be sponsoring the GOLD Star First Responder Award in conjunction with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms for the second year in a row. 

The GOLD Star First Responder Award honors first responders who go above and beyond the call of duty to serve and protect our community. These individuals will be recognized at the PPL Center during Phantoms games throughout the 2022-2023 hockey season.

IronPigs 2023 Season & GOLD Community Star Award

Play ball! Baseball is back at Coca-Cola Park for the 2023 IronPigs' season. We're thrilled to be back for the third year in a row to recognize outstanding leaders in our community that are making a positive impact. GOLD is the exclusive sponsor of this season's GOLD Community Star Award which will be awarded to five deserving individuals.

Know someone who's a shining light in the community? We want to hear about them! Nominate a Lehigh Valley resident who embodies the principle of people helping people, creating opportunity for others, and empowering them to achieve their dreams.

We'll be honoring GOLD Community Star Award recipients at the following games of the 2023 season:

Donate Supplies to the Y's Warming Station

We're happy to announce that now through the end of March, both GOLD branch locations will be collecting supplies to support the Greater Valley YMCA Allentown Warming Station. The Y's Warming Station provides shelter, food, and a safe place for those experiencing homelessness in our local community. 

The next time you're at the store, we hope that you'll please consider adding a little extra something to your cart to help. Here are some of the items on their wishlist: 

  • Oatmeal
  • Granola bars
  • Coffee, powdered coffee creamer, and disposable paper coffee cups
  • Laundry pods
  • Bleach
  • Travel size soap, toothpaste, and deodorant
  • Wash cloths
  • Ziploc bags
  • Paper plates and napkins

Employee Causes Spotlight

Laura Leinbach: The Kindness Project

The Kindness Project is a donation-based nonprofit organization providing support and resources to families and children in foster care throughout the Lehigh Valley community and surrounding areas. They serve our local community by supplying families with clothing, shoes, furniture, and other necessities completely free of charge.

GOLD's VP of Communications, Laura Leinbach, volunteers her time at the physical shop location, "The Kindness Exchange," in Emmaus. She helps serve foster families that visit the shop in need of essential items for their foster placements.
