Services for our younger members

Helping your children develop a healthy relationship with money early on sets them up for future financial success. Together, we can encourage responsible saving and spending habits that'll last them a lifetime.

GOLD Credit Union offers savings and checking accounts specifically for children under 12, teens and young adults. We've designed these accounts with your children in mind, giving them increasing options over time, all while earning dividends.

Minor Account

A minor account, available to Members up to 18 years old, is a savings account that provides more freedoms for the minor Member. Minor accounts for children under 12 years old require a joint owner. Minors at least 12 years old may open accounts without a joint owner.

When the minor turns 18 years old, we'll convert the account to a general membership.

Account Requirements

All names on a Minor Account must be eligible for Membership at GOLD Credit Union. The funds belong to all names listed on the account and are accessible to all account owners.

When opening a Minor Account, the minor and adult joint owner should be prepared with the following:

  • Required Pledge Amount: $5 per name listed on the account
  • Required Documents (Minor): Birth certificate, passport, Social Security Card, or school ID
  • Required Documents (Joint Owners): Photo ID

Open a minor account online at our branches, over the phone, or through the mail. Any questions, or to get started, give us a call: 484-223-4200.

Parent Managed (PAUTMA) Youth Account

While available to minors up to 21 years old, PAUTMA accounts are savings accounts that are most often opened for our youngest Members in order to establish an account that is owned by the minor, but restricted from the minor and managed by the custodian. While the custodian is generally a parent, it does not have to be.

Account Requirements

All names on a PAUTMA Account must be eligible for Membership at GOLD Credit Union. The funds belong to the minor but may only be accessed by the custodian*. When the minor turns 21 years old, the custodian must close the account and relinquish the funds to the minor.

When opening a PAUTMA Account, the minor and custodian should be prepared with the following:

  • Required Pledge Amount: $5 per name listed on the account
  • Required Documents (Minor): Birth certificate, passport or school ID
  • Required Documents (Custodian): Photo ID

Open a PAUTMA account at our branches, over the phone, or through the mail. Any questions, or to get started, give us a call: 484-223-4200.

*A successor custodian may be named.
